One stamp – two cards

by Svitlana Shayevich

Hello everyone!

This is Svitlana, sharing two cards made using Painted Butterflies stamps set.

For the first card I first stamped a lot of butterflies on a card base using Desert NightDuskOcean WavesSea Glass and Mango Smoothie crisp inks.

I only stamped on the bottom and right part as everything else is covered by the front panel. After stamping the butterflies I inked  them over with Sea Glass and Mango Smoothie crisp inks using sponge dauber.

Next I cut an angled panel panel from the same cardstock. To make a contrast between busy card base with the panel design I went extremely simple – just stamped the sentiment and one butterfly using DuskOcean WavesSea Glass crisp inks.

For the second card I went a bit artsy. I wanted to create “paint drips” that are so popular these days. Paint sometimes can drip from a painted butterfly.

First I stamped the butterfly on a watercolor paper using Mango Smoothie crisp inks. After applying ink on the stamp I slightly sprinkled it with water (very slightly, to get a little watercolor look but at the same time not to get it very splotchy and uneven). When the first layer dried a bit, but still was wet – stamped the second layer using Ocean Waves in the same manner.

And next started adding “paint drips” with a brush using the same inks (pressed them on my glass mat, added some water and used these ink puddles as “paint”).

After drips were finished and dry – I stamped the final butterfly layer using Desert Night crisp ink. Cut the watercolor piece and adhered it to a card base along with two cardstock pieces of corresponding colors underneath. To finish the card I stamped the sentiment from Label Love stamps set using Desert Night, cut it and adhered to the card using foam squares.

Hope you are having a great day and so glad you decided to stop by!
