On-trend geometrics

by Aimes

Hey!

Happy Friday! It's Aimes here today sharing my love of all things geometric with you. Geometric shapes and patterns are totally on trend at the moment and the good news is that Altenew have a plethora of gorgeous geometric goodies to achieve the look. :)

I also love that geometric designs can cater for any occasion for both masculine and feminine recipients. I'm sharing two cards today, one for a couple celebrating the safe arrival of a sweet baby boy, and the other an anniversary card for my husband (Mr Gray) which would also make a cool Valentine's card.

For my baby card, I decided to pair Altenew's Dodecagram stamp set with the Dodec Cover Die using shades of blue cardstock and Altenew inks.

CongratulationsI decided to opt out of using the co-ordinating outline image of the Dodecagram image as I like the contrast of the line-free stamped pattern against the linear nature of the Dodec Cover Die pattern for the card front.

Congratulations close upIf you wanted to, you could go one step further with this card and die-cut the Dodec Cover Die from various shades of blue cardstock and insert pieces for a fun, multi-tonal inlaid design. I opted for the quick and easy way of simply adhering the pattern die-cut from navy cardstock on top of light blue cardstock. ;)

Congratulations close up2This next card was created to celebrate mine and Mr Gray's first anniversary and seeing as traditionally the first anniversary material is paper (it is here in the UK anyway!) it made sense to create an origami paper heart.

Love youI simply looked up the instructions to fold a paper heart and it was easy-peasy. As a sentimental touch, the heart actually opens out and contains a little love note.

Love you close up 2Our colour scheme for our Wedding Day was black, white and gold so I kept with this theme for the card. When I paired my origami heart with a geometric embossing folder from my stash, it just seemed so right to pair the design with a sentiment Altenew's Painted Greetings stamp set. Another set that is completely on-trend with its handwritten/script-style fonts. I love it!

love you close upWell, there you have it! I hope my cards inspire you to have a look through your stash to see what on-trend gorgeous geometric designs you can create!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! :D

Thanks so much for using the dodecagram stamp Set. I own it but needed some major inspiration to use it. Your card did the trick. I love it!
