Make Delicate Florals ‘Pop'
Hello there everyone! Happy Marvelous Monthly Release Day! Lydia here. Today I'll be sharing how you can make soft colored florals pop with a dark background. I started by cutting all of the images from Craft-A-Flower Rhododendron Die Set from Classic Crest Solar White Cardstock. I also cut a further 2 sets of leaves, although I didn't use all of them on the finished project (more for next time, right?!?!) Once all the images were cut I added color to them with a little ink blending. For the petals I used Peachy Keen Ink,and for the base of the layered petals I used Terracotta Ink. The stamens were inked using Lemonade Stand and Terracotta Inks and the leaves were inked with Silver Lining Ink. The petals were curled before I adhered them together using a little Instant Dimension Foam Tape.
For the background, I masked off 1/2″ from each of the sides of a 4 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ panel of Classic Crest Solar White Cardstock using Satin Masking Tape. I then inked the panel using Dusk, Desert Night, and Navy Inks. Once I had removed the masking tape I added the floral elements into place using Instant Dimension Foam Tape and added splatter using Pure White Ink Spray. The sentiment is from Essential Sentiments Hot Foil and Die Set.

Love a burgundy or deep green for holiday card backgrounds.
Navy blue
Stunning card!! My current go to background color is white, I love a clean and layered look. I emboss on white for my background, or just add some splatter.
Thank you so much! White backgrounds do offer a timeless and elegant canvas for creativity, don’t they? Your choice of embossing or adding splatter adds a lovely touch of texture and depth. Your cards must be absolutely beautiful!

I use white backgrounds a lot, but lately I am enjoying the look of gray!
