October 2023 Inspiration Challenge feat. Special Guest Host Hannelie Bester

Hey there, creative souls! Hannelie Bester here, and I'm beyond excited to unveil the photo that has sparked my imagination for this month's Inspiration Challenge. That's not all—there are exciting giveaways waiting just for you, so keep on reading and join in the fun!

I took the photo on a Saturday morning on one of our regular weekend morning walks with our Cocker Spaniel, Sugar. We usually stop at the small grocery store in our village to buy croissants for breakfast.  As always, Sugar and I waited in the park outside for my husband to return. I noticed a beautiful Plumeria flower lying on the grass. I picked it up, placed it on the bench, and then realized the texture and early morning light were perfect for a special photo… and here it is! I hope you will love it as much as I do and that it will inspire you to play along!

In this challenge, I decided to focus on the textures of the bench and the bold color of the single flower for my card design.  So I started working on applying the inspiration to a card. I started off by cutting out the frame. I used the Deck Planks 3D Embossing Folder to emboss the card panel. You can use washi tape to keep all the pieces in place. After embossing the card panel, I used Ruby Red and Coral Berry ink from the Set, as well as Orange cream from the Warm Cozy Crisp Dye Ink Mini Cube set to color the frame. Instant dimension foam tape was adhered to the frame for dimension

I stamped and cut the largest flower out from the Floral Art Stamp Set using Coral Berry, Autumn Blaze, and Jet Black Crisp Dye ink. 

To finish off the card I stamped the “just for you” sentiment from the Label Love Stamp Set with Jet Black Crisp Ink and adhered it to the flower.  I also used the clear enamel dots from Colorful Wonder Enamel Dots to embellish my card.
