Monochrome Watercolour With Adore You Stamp Set

by Lydia Evans

Hi there everyone! Lydia here with you today showing that you don't need to use lots of different colours to create a watercolour background. For this card I used just one grey watercolour marker and Adore You Stamp Set!

I started by stamping flower and leaf clusters all over a piece of watercolour card with black ink using Adore You Stamp Set. Once I was happy with the amount of floral images I set to work. Using my single grey watercolour marker I added colour to the centres of the flowers and leaves. Then using a damp brush I pulled this colour out to colour the images. And then left to dry.

Once the flowers and leaves were dry I used the same grey marker to go around the outside of the images. Once again I then took a damp brush to soften out the colour around the edges. I have to say I'm really liking the effect this gives.

To finish I again took Adore You Stamp Set to stamp a sentiment onto the same dark grey card I used for my card base. I used an embossing ink so I could then emboss it in white embossing powder. When it had cooled I matted this onto some vellum before adding to the background with foam pads.

Thank you so much for stopping by and I hope you give this monochromatic colouring a go!

Hugs, Lydia.

This is very pretty! The images are beautiful and the gray watercoloring really lets them shine on their own. I like the vellum behind the greeting, too!
