Hello, crafty friends. It’s May here today hosting the May Inspiration Challenge. I chose a photo that my older brother sent me last year. He loves taking photos of flowers, so I often ask him to share them with me as I want to feel my home country which is South Korea.
I created a one layer watercolor card using the Lotus stamp set. I was on the fence with stamping the stems. However, I decided to stamp them at the end as I wanted to use the same color scheme from the inspiration photo above.
I started by stamping the images from the Lotus stamp set with black waterproof ink on a piece of cold press watercolor paper. I did some masking using post-it-note along the way to add some interest to my one layer card.
Then I watercolored my images with Mijello Misson Gold watercolor set. I created a gentle gradient by starting with intense colors first with less water and then using a paint brush wet with clean water to diffuse the color.
After stamping the sentiment from the Build-A-Flower: Camellia set, I added some paint splatters to finish off my card.
I made a video tutorial to show you how to make this card from start to finish. You can watch it here below on YouTube channel. Hope you find it helpful.
