Matching design idea for a set of two cards

by Sveta Fotinia

Hello, everyone! Today I'm going to share with you an idea of matching designs for a set of two cards. To make my cards matching I used the same cardstock colors and die sets with a similar floral designs. To strengthen the effect, I also used sentiments from the Sentiment Strips 2 stamp set for both cards.07162020LeafyBorderDieSentimentStrips2 1 of 4For the first card, I created a card panel with a lacy floral window using Leafy Border Die and a Spicy Yogurt cardstock.07162020LeafyBorderDieSentimentStrips2 2 of 4This card design can be used in both vertical and horizontal orientations. For the card base, I chose contrasting Forest Glades cardstock;, this one also supports a leaf theme.07162020LeafyBorderDieSentimentStrips2 3 of 4I like the variety of the Sentiment Strips 2 stamp set phrases and that includes great sentiments for COVID-times: warm, healing, and supporting ones.07162020LeafyBorderDieSentimentStrips2 4 of 4The second card is more green instead of the first but all ingredients are the same. Only one accent I added on a green card base is a few drops of Iridescent Shimmer Ink Spray.07162020HangingGardenDieSentimentStrips2 1 of 4I adhered both die-cuts in a way to create one branch that goes along the card. I'm in love with the tiny lacy design of this Hanging Garden Die set. I also enjoy how a few leaves go out of the card's borders.07162020HangingGardenDieSentimentStrips2 2 of 4 07162020HangingGardenDieSentimentStrips2 3 of 4 07162020HangingGardenDieSentimentStrips2 4 of 4

Very pretty but I’m always wary of cards with a design which overlaps the edge: firstly you have to find a bigger envelope , ans secondly by the time the recipient gets it the fragile overlapping bits will be looking very dogeared.
