Hi there everyone! It's Jenny here, I hope you've all been well! I've been reading a lot lately, as well as reading with my daughter and one thing we need a lot of is bookmarks! I created one for her when the Botanical Bookmark Bundle was released, and she's loved it ever since. This time, I thought I could coordinate the Bookmark with a card – this would be a great way to create a little gift set for a bookish friend!

Bookmark and Card Backgrounds
I first created my bookmark base. While there is an excellent die in the Botanical Bookmark set, you can also use slim nesting dies in a similar way. I used the Nesting Slim Labels Die Set, die cutting two shapes one from pink cardstock and one from a darker coral color. I adhered them together back-to-back. I also cut out a white panel of cardstock for my matching gift card.
To add interest to the background, I first added some floral outlines. I used the Stunning Sakura Outline Stamp Set, stamped in Pinkalicious Crisp Dye Ink. I stamped it on both the front and back of the bookmark, creating a gorgeous tone-on-tone look on the backside. The pink stands out more on the paler side and the card itself. I also added a few spritzes of Iridescent Ink Spray.
I also added a few pale inked stars using the Lacy Tile Stencil and Purple Wine Crisp Dye ink if you look closely, to add more texture and interest to the blank parts of the background.

Adding Die Cut Dragonflies
I created a pair of dragonflies with the Delicate Dragonflies Dies using coral cardstock, pale pink cardstock, and the darker coral color. I die-cut out all the pieces, adding ink blending to the dragonfly's bodies, in order to pull out the details, using Pinkalicious. I used Glitter Cardstock for the wings themselves (SNEAK PEEK ALERT! This color is not yet released!) then adhered them all together, using foam squares.

Finishing Touches
The sentiment on the bookmark was from the Botanical Bookmark Stamp Set stamped in Obsidian Pigment Ink. I actually snipped the stamp in half to get it to fit! I added the Dragonfly over the top and added a few Satin Gold Sequins.
To add the thread, I punched a small hole in the top using a pokey tool, then threaded Gold Metallic Thread through the top and tied a bow, snipping off the excess.

On the card panel, I stamped the sentiment from the Craft Your Life Delicate Garden Project Kit in Obsidian Pigment Ink. I added the Dragonfly and adhered a few Satin Gold Sequins, before adhering the entire panel to a white notecard.
You can see that the possibilities for this sort of matching gift set are endless -create your card, and then grab a bookmark die or a couple of nesting labels and match your bookmark! I hope this inspires you to create a gift set for that bookish friend in your life!
