March Challenge: From Places Abroad – France (Video)!

by Therese Calvird

Hi everyone! Therese  is here hosting March challenge. We are once again bringing you the “From Places Abroad” theme and inviting you to go abroad to France in search of creative inspiration for your projects.

We hope you’ve enjoyed our February challenge and will join us once again. We certainly loved each one of your projects and your take on our inspiration photos.

This month’s theme: From Places Abroad: France

This is just ‘part' of one of the most stunning gardens that I have ever seen, it is in the Loire Valley in France and I visited there with my husband a few years ago.  I found it very easy to be inspired by this photo and I actually had too many ideas for this card.  But when in doubt I always return to ‘colour' and focused my card around this as well as incorporating the ‘maze' of green by using the Shutter Cover Die.

Here's a look at my project:

Wonderful - Detail copy

I used the ‘sketchy' style flower from Wild Hibiscus, which I think went perfectly with the watercolor look.  Then I white embossed a sentiment on vellum from the You Are set and placed them on my Shutter Cover Die maze.

Wonderful (1) copy

If you would like to see how my card came together you can either see my video here or Watch it in HD at Youtube.

Such an outstanding garden, Therese … you’ve been there? LOve this shutter die, and it is so very perfect for the challenge, I wish it were mine! I’ll be playing with my new Wild Hibiscus today … must try a pink/green number!
