Hello Altenew friends! It's Virginia here! I am absolutely delighted to host the Inspiration Challenge for the first time! The inspiration photo was taken during my Panama Cruise in 2013. We were visiting the Naval Museum in Cartagena, Col0mbia where we enjoyed watching a traditional Colombian dance. It was such a treat to watch the dancers in their colorful and vibrant costumes. I was quite taken away by the sight and sound of this lively performance.
Here is my interpretation of the inspiration challenge.
I created a CAS design with Farmers Market stamp set. The solid pepper image is perfect for multi-color stamping. To kick it up a notch, I applied “Stamp-Kissing” technique. Basically, I first inked up the pepper image in various shades from Summer Afternoon Oval/Mini Cube, Warm & Cozy Oval/Mini ink and Red Cosmos Oval/Mini Cube. While the inked pepper images were still wet, I stamped sentiments from Precious Moment Stamp Set in Jet Black and let the two stamps “kiss”! Thus, you see the text background in the pepper! How cool is that, right?
I adhered a piece of wood texture to represent the dancers' straw hats. The subtle color and textures from Cheery Wood Paper add a lovely interest. I hope that you are inspired to create something super colorful and fun.
