Hello there, Michelle here and welcome back to another edition of Terrific Tags with Michelle.
Today I am sharing a quick and easy way to make watercolors sparkle with watercolor tubes and shimmer spray!

1 Shade Watercoloring
I started off my tag by stamping the images onto Hot Pressed Watercolor Paper using Obsidian Pigment Ink. I stamped one of the flowers from the Wallpaper Art Stamp Set and the leaves twice from the Golden Days Stamp Set.
I took Dark Cyan and Phthalo Green Watercolor Tubes and added a little of each onto a palette. I mixed with a little water and then using a size 4 Fine Watercolor Brush, added color to the images.

I added a little paint to the petals first, where the petal meets the center of the flower, and then blended it out with water to fade out towards the tips of the petals.
Once I had completed the first layer on all of the petals, I went in and added a second layer to intensify the color. It is always easier to add color than take it away!
I painted the leaves in the same way. These watercolor paints are very transparent, so perfect for watercoloring stamped images!

Make Watercolors Sparkle
To make the watercolors sparkle, I sprayed Iridescent Shimmer Ink Spray onto the palette, picked it up with a wet brush and then painted it onto the flower and leaves. I tried to avoid the stamped lines where possible, but I did overlap a few.
Although subtle, it really does add the most prettiest sparkle to the images and much easier to see in real-life!
I fussy cut the flower out using Fine Blade Scissors, and die cut the leaves using the Golden Days Die Set.

Create a Tag
I die cut a Terrific Tags Die from more Hot Pressed Watercolor Paper and added Dark Cyan watercolor on top, to peek outside the images, for some more interest. Watch the video below to see a trick for how I did this!
I adhered another tag to the back to have somewhere clean to write a personal message. The leaves were adhered on top using Glue Tape and the flower adhered using Instant Dimension Foam Tape.

I hot foiled a sentiment from the Essential Sentiments Hot Foil Plate onto black cardstock using white foil. It was cut into a strip using the Essential Sentiments Die and adhered to the tag using more foam tape.
To finish off, I added twine through the top of the tag and tied in a bow.
I really love how those watercolors sparkle on the images! Whilst I went quite subtle here, you could definitely go all out with the sparkle if you wanted to!

Thank you so much for stopping by today, I really appreciate it. Will you be trying this out? I would love to hear in the comments below!
