Hi friends! Emily Midgett here with you today to share some deeply saturated, lush green inspiration using the gorgeous Craft Your Life Project Kit: Hello Beautiful. These kits are filled with products that coordinate superbly, and I couldn't help but make two unique cards using the different components of the kit! Let's get started with the details.

Both of my projects feature a vivid, intense teal as the main color, with metallic accents and pops of sparkle. I adore vibrant, jewel-toned color schemes, full of color saturation and layer upon layer of color. The beautiful flower images on the 3D Embossing Folder lent themselves very well to a vibrant watercolored background, so I pulled out the Artists' Watercolor 24 Pan set and some vivid, deep teal cardstock and set about making my first card.

I began my project by running a panel of heavy duty cold pressed watercolor paper through my die cutting machine with the 3D Embossing Folder from the Craft Your Life Project Kit: Hello Beautiful. I taped my embossed watercolor panel down to my watercolor board to minimize warping, then began painting the images. I treat watercoloring these embossing folder panels the same way that I would treat no-line coloring: keep the wet sections separate. If you work in sections apart from each other, allowing your wet section time to dry before working on the spot directly next to it, you will be able to maintain the definition on each individual image (in this case, each individual petal).
Did you know that you can mix pan watercolors and gouache? The gouache adds a level of opacity to your paint, and you can customize your colors by mixing and matching between your pan watercolors and your gouache paints. After my entire panel had been watercolored, I enhanced some of the details with some opaque gouache from the Strolling Through New York Artists' Gouache set. I added details to the flower centers, then added some definition to the edges of some of the lighter petals to make sure that each petal was distinct. Finally, I splattered the entire panel with some Rose Gold Metallic Watercolor.

After I had finished watercoloring, I trimmed down the watercolored panel slightly and mounted it on a coordinating deep teal cardstock base. The mottled blue-green background of the watercolored panel provides just enough variation to allow that teal frame to stand out! I also heat embossed some sentiments from the Elegant Sayings stamp and die set onto another panel of the same teal cardstock using Rose Gold embossing powder. I popped up the sentiments with some Instant Dimension Foam Tape, then added a few rose gold gems from my stash for some more sparkle!

My second project features the stamp set from the Craft Your Life Project Kit: Hello Beautiful and a similar color scheme. That rose gold + teal combination was too beautiful to not do another card with it! Using all of the floral stamps from the Craft Your Life Project Kit: Hello Beautiful, I heat embossed a floral patterned panel with Rose Gold embossing powder, starting with the largest stamp and working my way down to the smallest to fill in the gaps and create a cohesive pattern. I trimmed down the panel slightly and blended Green Onyx ink around the edges to add some dimension to the patterned panel.

To enhance the beautiful contrast between the rose gold embossing and the vivid teal background, I trimmed down a strip of coordinating metallic glitter paper from the Sunstone paper from the Golden Sunrise Gradient Glitter Paper pack. I adhered the glitter strip so that it created a textural barrier between the embossed teal panel and the plain teal card front to which I intended to mount my embossed panel. I popped up the greeting with some more foam adhesive, which helps it to stand out from the patterned background, finally adding a few rose gold gems for more sparkle!
Well, that's all for my projects today! It's such fun to come up with ways to make a cohesive card set using completely different techniques. What design and ideas do you have in mind using the Craft Your Life Project Kit: Hello Beautiful? Do let me know in the comments below!
Thanks so much for reading, and have a marvelous day!

What is the name of the teal color cardstock? It’s beautiful!
Emily! I love this set and have used it for my Inspiration Challenge card this month! But I LOVE it in this deep regal teal! Thank you for inspiring me to try water coloring that embossed image!

Would LOVE for Emily to know that the official name of her gorgeous color choice is actually “Atrovirens,” my favorite color of all time!

Love the color. Stunning.
Gorgeous cards! Love the colors.
Absolutely stunning!
Hi, Whilst both cards are gorgeous, the first one caught my eye as I recently used the stamp set for a card. Yours is truly stunning, mainly because of the beautiful card colour you used. Can you please tell me what brand and colour the card stock is? I’m assuming it isn’t from ALT or it would have been included in the list of products used?
Thank you.
absolutely gorgeous!!
