June Guest Designer- Vicky Papaioannou

by Lydia Evans

Hello, everyone and welcome to our June Guest Designer post!

Well do we have a treat for you today, we have the lovely Vicky Papaioannou for our June Guest Designer and she will sharing some amazingly beautiful projects. So here are what she has for us today:

@guest vicky

I live in Greece with my husband, my two kids and my cat Ginger! I love cardmaking and art journaling and I share my creations on my blog and youtube channel. My YouTube channel has been a great success over the years with a growing number of followers and that really helped me switch from a full time high school teacher into a full time independent designer and mixed media artist. I am finally doing what I love most, sharing my art with fellow crafters online and I also teach live workshops all over the world.

So lets jump in and take a look at Vicky's first card, it features the ever popular Best Dad Stamp Set:

Best Dad Vicky

This is a lovely masculine card, perfect for every dad out there! First of all I used the “best dad” stamp set and dies to stamp and cut out all my images. Then I colored everything with alcohol markers but kept everything pretty simple with a lot of grey and a touch of red to every image. I used my craft knife to cut out a slit on the basket and then added all my images inside. As a result it looks like the elements are inside the tool box. For the perfect masculine look I covered my card base with a canvas fabric and added on top a piece of jean fabric.

For a full how to please watch the video below, or on YouTube.

We just love how Vicky has added all of the elements inside the tool box! Even though there are lots of elements arranging them all together like this gives a clean look to the finished card. And the choice of background really adds to the masculine look!

Vicky's next card is a real beauty:

Adore You Vicky

To begin this card I stamped many of the beautiful flowers and leaves and colored everything with my Altenew alcohol markers. I then used the matching dies to cut out everything. To create my flower arrangement I decided to nest them against a frame. You can use any frame die that you might have, even a nice circle would work great. Also as I wanted to add a touch of elegant so I made sure that my frame is sparkly. The frame is raised with foam tape for some added dimension and if you take a closer look you will see that some of the flowers are adhered flat on the card while others with foam squares. To finish my card I added a lovely sentiment from the same stamp set!

To see in detail how Vicki created this please watch the video below. Also you can check it out on YouTube:

We just love the beautiful floral cluster that Vicky has created here. She has created such depth to the bouquet by die cutting and layering her beautifully coloured flowers and leaves.
