Hello friends! Its time for a new challenge, I hope you'll join me this month and create with your Altenew goodies! Summer is considered the Wedding Season of the year and I couldn't help but stamp a simple, yet eye-catching Wedding card to congratulate my friends on their big day. I think you will all agree that an avid stamper needs to have a Wedding card or two ready in their stash just for such an occasion.
The photo on the inspiration banner comes from my little balcony garden. Every Spring I like to dedicate a little bit of time to do some gardening and plant a couple of flowers that bloom thought the Summer. My garden is very small, as its a balcony garden, and all of the plants are potted; nonetheless I enjoy spending my free time there enjoying a cup of coffee or reading a book. Plus my cats adore it too, as plants always attract insects and my kitties just love to play with them.
This month theme – Weddings!
Usually our challenges are based on the inspiration photo, but this month we decided to also add a theme to the photo – Weddings.
We'd like to encourage you to break out your Altenew stamps, dies and inks (and antique trims, too!) and create anything Wedding related. Be it a Wedding Greeting Card, a sample Wedding invitation, a Wedding Table Place Card, a Wedding Menu – anything you can think of. Don't be afraid to surprise us with your creativity and ingenuity!
To create this card I started by making a card base out of white woodgrain cardstock. I feel it is a perfect match for Clean & Simple projects and the texture on the paper adds so much to the card. To stamp the flowers and leaves I used Peony Bouquet stamps and matching dies, although just about any floral stamp set from Altenew is a great option to use on a Wedding project such as this one.
The Happy Wedding sentiment came from another set, Vintage Roses. Altenew offers several different sets that work beautifully for Weddings and Wedding Stationery, for example: a simple Congratulations can be found in many sets, such as: Beautiful Lady, Dodecagram, Magnolias For Her, Scribbled Flowers; you can use alpha sets to spell out the names of the bride and & groom like I did here using Calligraphy Alpha or Modern Deco Alpha; you can also use other sets, such as Ori Kami, Thinking of You or Trophy Life for unique Wedding sentiments; finally there are From the Desk Of and Painted Poppy sets that will help you stamp sentiments for Save The Date cards and Anniversary projects.
As for the colors I followed my inspiration photo and used gold embossing powder along with Buttercream, Mango Smoothie and Warm Sunshine for the yellow color; Frayed Leaf and Forest Glades for the green; and finally Frosty Pink, Cotton Candy, Coral Berry and a touch of Ruby Red for the pink.
