July 2023 Marvelous Monthly Series

Add gorgeous tropical toucans, lilies, whimsical blooms, a succulent, and more to all your DIY projects! This release has all you need for cardmaking, scrapbooking, and journaling. Your ideas will burst to life from paper once you add these fun products to your stash. We can't wait to see what you create!

  Today, I'm going to show you a great technique that helps ‘soften' colors using white pigment ink. I started by stamping the large image from Build-A-Garden Sweet Lilies onto a piece of Classic Crest Solar White Cardstock using Jet Black Ink.

I then colored the stamped image using the coordinating Simple Coloring Stencil and some Mini Ink Blending Tools. The inks I used are Cherry Sweet, Tickled Pink, Be Grapeful, Berry Cool, Tangerine Dream, Lemonade Stand, and Lettuce Celebrate Fresh Dye Inks.

To add more detail and depth the to images I added a little shading to the inked flowers using Artist Markers in colors Ruby Red, Rubellite, Lagoon, Ultraviolet, Marigold, and Honey Drizzle. Once the image was fully colored I die cut the image and then cut down the center. I moved one half of the image over to the side and then on the other I inked over the whole piece using Cloud White Pigment Ink– this added a layer of ink adding a pastel look to the usually bright inks used on the image.

To finish off the cards I used a strip of patterned paper from Essential Black & White Paper Pack and the sentiments are from the same stamp set. To see how these cards came together please watch the video below. Or over on YouTube:
