Get to know TaeEun!
Hi, friends!!! I’m TaeEun from Rainbow in November! I’ve been making cards since 2015. It was like a door to a new world opening for me, as I came across card-making videos for the first time. I immediately fell in love and since then I’ve been enjoying my hobby and loving the paper crafting community. I’m addicted to coloring floral images using various mediums. Playing with Altenew’s beautiful flower stamps is one of the best parts of my card-making journey!
Let's check out her projects!
I’m so excited to be guest designing on the Altenew Card Blog! I’ve created three cards to show you different ways to color floral stamp images.
“Thank You” Card – Coloring with Watercolor Brush Markers
For my first card, I chose watercoloring.
First, I stamped the floral clusters from Handpicked Bouquet, Best Mom, and Extra Special Stamp Sets on a watercolor paper panel in black pigment ink. I colored the images using Altenew's Watercolor Brush Markers and I did loose watercoloring. I used Ruby Red for the big flower of the Handpicked Bouquet Stamp Set. The small flowers were colored in Rubellite, Midnight Violet and Sea Breeze. For the leaves, I chose Lagoon, Emerald and Lime.
Then, I added a watercolor wash in the background in the same colors, splattered Emerald, Midnight Violet and some white opaque ink and let the panel dry. I then narrowed down the panel and die cut the image of the Handpicked Bouquet from the panel.
I mounted the colored panel flat on a white top-fold card base and placed the Handpicked Bouquet image using some foam adhesives on it. The sentiment is from the Sweetest Peas Stamp Set. Then, I white heat-embossed it on a strip of black cardstock and added it onto the card. To finish, I adhered some clear crystal sequins.
“Always Thinking of You” – Coloring with Artist Markers
The second card is showcasing Floral Art Stamp Set and Altenew's Artist Markers.
I stamped the small flowers and leaves on a solar white cardstock panel in Pink Diamond and Morning Frost Crisp Dye Inks respectively. The large flower was stamped on a separate piece of white cardstock in Pink Diamond.
I then had some relaxing coloring time! :) I used Rose Quartz, Puffy Heart, Purple Wine, and Cosmic Berry from Artist Markers Set D for the large flower and Blush, Rouge, Cotton Candy, Crimson and Velvet from Artist Markers Set C for the small ones. The leaves were colored in Sand Dunes and Rocky Shore from Set D and Morning Frost from Set B. After the coloring was completed, I fussy cut the large flower and set it aside.
Next, I heat embossed the sentiment from Versatile Vases Stamp Set in black on the colored front panel. Then I splattered gold ink on the panel, narrowed it slightly down, and foam mounted the panel on a Kraft card base. The big flower was then added onto the card using some foam adhesives. To finish off the card, I scattered some golden sequins and added glittery gold dots on the flower centers using Nuvo drops.
“Hello” Card – Coloring with Artist Marker Refills
In the last card, I colored the gorgeous poppies from Wonderland Stamp Set using Altenew's Artist Marker Refills.
To start off, I gold heat-embossed the flowers on an alcohol ink cardstock panel. I masked the images while I was doing it, if needed. Then I colored the poppy flower petals in Coral Berry, Cotton Candy, Warm Sunshine, Caramel Toffee Artist Marker Refills. The flower center was colored in Paper Bag. I used Forest Glades for the leaves and the background along with Ocean Waves. After I added white and gold splatters on the colored panel, I let it completely dry.
The die-cut sentiment hello was cut using the coordinating die of Blooming Bouquet Stamp Set from gold cardstock and three more times from white cardstock. I also cut a thin frame using Fine Frames Cover Die from gold cardstock to give the die-cut sentiment something to sit on. My finishing touch for this card was some golden sequins.
I made a video of the coloring process. You can watch it here or on Altenew's YouTube channel.
I keep tilting the paper in the video to move the ink I applied on the image. My apologies for that in advance. :)
That’s it from me for today! Huge thanks to Altenew for having me as a guest today. Thanks to you all, crafty friends, for looking! Hope I was able to inspire you with my cards!
