Jaycee’s Top 5 Perfect Crafting Picks from Altenew | Perfect Pairings with Jaycee + Video Tutorial

Hi Altenew friends, it's Jaycee! For my last ‘Perfect Pairings' of 2022, I'm wrapping up the year with my FIVE crafting favorites from Altenew.

It was difficult to pick only five from this year, but my goal was to pick items that I would use in future projects. I hope that these favorites find their way into your crafting stash and you enjoy them over and over.

I simplified my list from 2021. Below are the five distinguished categories:

Favorite Embossing Folder: Craft Your Life Project Kit: Fragrant Florals

Although this embossing folder is only available as part of the complete Craft Your Life Project Kit, this embossing alone is able to take center stage on your card. Pair this embossing folder with letterpress techniques for easy texture with so much depth. I love that this embossed image can have multiple orientations that will suit any of your future projects.

Favorite Die Set: Craft-A-Flower: Water Lily

I previously shared how to foil with your thin steel dies. I love the detail ridges in the recent collection of Craft-A-Flower layering dies. I can capture the details with a hot foil letterpress technique and create more dimension in my layered florals.

The beautiful thing about hot foil resist is it works just like an embossing resist. I can ink blend directly on top of the foil, and the paper is vibrant and shiny.

Favorite Ink Family: Woodland Escape Fresh Dye Ink Set

The ink I used on the Craft-A-Flower: Water Lily card is my new favorite; Woodland Escape Fresh Dye Ink. For a long time, I struggled to find that perfect blush-peony combination. The gradation from taupe to mauve creates a romantic depth at the base of the petals. I find myself reaching for this set whenever I want white-appearing flowers.

Favorite Stamp Set: Ambridge Rose Stamp Set

Finally, my favorite stamp set to release this year is the Ambridge Rose Stamp Set. I have always personally admired cupped-style roses. I am anxious to add a cabbage-style rose to my garden mostly because I love highly fragrant roses. So not only is this rose visually appealing to me, it makes me excited to look to the future.
