Hi there! Emily Midgett here with you, and I am super excited to be kicking off the new year with a new Inspiration Challenge with some spring vibes!
This month, our inspiration stems from a photo that I took of a beautiful bouquet of flowers featuring this enormous stargazer lily. I absolutely loved how the lily was the star of the entire bouquet, even overshadowing the beautiful lilac rose, so I thought it was perfect to use with Altenew's beautiful large-scale florals!
Here's my project, inspired by this photo:

Bold and Vibrant “Hugs” Card with Spring Vibes
I used the Craft Your Life Project Kit: Feathered Lilies to create this card, quite literally copying the inspiration photo, from the layout and color scheme to the floral choice!
I began by heat embossing the main lily bouquet from Craft Your Life Project Kit: Feathered Lilies onto some watercolor paper using Golden Peach embossing powder. I love using this shade of metallic rose gold for watercoloring flowers anymore; it's so soft and feminine without adding the harsh lines that black stamping or embossing creates.
I used my favorite 24 Pan Artists' Watercolor Set to watercolor the lilies a lush pink and lime green, the same shades as in the inspiration graphic. I also added a light pink wash around the edge of the image, as I knew that I wanted to use a colorful cardstock background, and so I didn't want to mar the overall effect by having those harsh white lines around the edge of the die-cut.

After die cutting the watercolored lily image, I used the embossing folder included in the Craft Your Life Project Kit: Feathered Lilies to emboss a panel of heavyweight vellum.
The inspiration photo has a touch of an ornately carved wall behind the bouquet, and I wanted to emulate this with some of the beautiful texture from the embossing folder.
I mounted a thin rectangular frame around the edge of my 3D embossed panel, cut using the Fine Frames Cover Die from some Brushed Rose Metallic Cardstock. I adhered my die-cut watercolored flowers to the vellum panel, allowing the flowers to spill over the sides of the frame.

I used touches of adhesive tape runner around the edges of my vellum panel, hiding the adhesive behind the solid die-cuts, and adhered the entire piece to a colorful cardstock base.
Next, I cut a greeting from more Brushed Rose Metallic Cardstock using the Circled Greetings: Hugs Die, the excess of which I trimmed off to leave a standalone die-cut sentiment. I adhered it to the card front with another layer of foam tape for extra height. I also added a few sprigs of glittery cardstock, cut using one of the dies from the Itty Bitty Branches Die Set.
So many fun elements of texture and dimension in this card!
I love mixing and matching metallic tones with different textures to keep things really interesting, and the bright lime green leaves really pop from the fairly monochromatic card!
Well, that's all for the details of my project! Now it's your turn! Here are the details of the challenge.
