Inlaid Die Cut Smile – Video!

by Therese Calvird

Hi it's Therese and today I have created a clean & simple masculine card and due to a technical glitch (lol), there was a change of design along the way and you get to see it because I was filming.

Altenew - Birthday Greetings / Sohcahtoa / Halftone Smile (video)

I stamped a graphic style background using the triangles from Sohcahtoa, the main sentiment was embossed and inlaid die cut using the Halftone Smile stamp set and matching die.  And the other sentiments and embossed balloon came from the Birthday Greetings set with the balloon die, and of course all stamped with a masculine color combination of the Altenew Crisp Dye Inks.

Thanks so much for this video. I screw up ALL the time, but when I watch these videos the stamping is perfect (without a MISTI, mind you), the embossing is perfect, the die cutting is perfect. ..and me–not so much! So I appreciate seeing an “expert” be imperfect for once, then figure a way to get to perfect. Wonderful.

I was just happy to save the card and not have to start again lol. Thanks so much for taking the time to comment. Therese

love how you fixed your “problem” – and i’ve had so much trouble with the matte medium i’ve quite using it – looking forward to your new class with Altenew this week.

Cute card. Love your freehand technique. So glad to hear I’m not the only one who had their fine tip glue itself closed! Yes! It was my matte medium. I still love it. Just shows what a great glue it is!

Yes, my matte medium is still unusable, you’ve just reminded me that I have to raid my hubby’s shed and find a set of pliers and see if that works lol. Thanks so much for visiting and commenting, Therese. Ps I really like this glue too!

Fabulous as ever Therese! I love that you show us ideas for some older sets that we might have – I have that Sochatoa set and haven’t used it in ages, I must dig it out again – and the popped up, camouflaged sentiment is terrific! You are so inspirational! TFS Have a lovely weekend! Hazel xx
