02 07 2023 Creativity Unlocked Projects Collage Zero Waste 3D Floral Cover Die

Zero Waste 3D Floral Cover Die

Wouldn't it be awesome if you could use every bit of your die-cut cardstock? This die cuts a floral background with fallout pieces that can be reassembled into layered flowers and leaves to add to the background, or to use on other projects! Add color to the layered elements with ink blending, or cut from a variety of cardstock colors as a simpler option. It's up to you!

I have made 2 cards using the gorgeous Zero Waste 3D Floral Cover Die

Are You READY? This 2-for-1 Floral Cardmaking Idea is Perfect for You!

Card Idea # 1 – No Background

With one pass of the Zero Waste 3D Floral Cover Die, I had enough flowers to layer up to create 2 card designs.  I added some simple ink blending but kept the color palette very light. I used the Red Cosmos Inks for the flowers and Frosted Foliage Set for the leaves.

Why not use colored cardstock instead of ink blending?  It will take a little longer to do, but then you would have enough to create multiple cards too!

Card Idea # 2 – Create with the Background

I didn't want to waste that fabulous background so I attached it to the front of my second card.  It added some extra dimension and texture to an otherwise very clean and simple card design.

I wanted a coordinating colored cardstock so I blended the Frosted Foliage ink to create my own.

Designer's Tips!

Fold along the scorelines before assembling each flower to create a 3D look. The small dots from the die can be used as flower centers, scattered around your project like sequins, or as shaker elements for a fun shaker card!

The fun thing about this cover die is there'd be no stamping needed! As Claire said in her post, there was “not a stamp in sight” when she whipped up her lovely card above! Aside from the Zero Waste Cover Die, she also used the Circle Frame Mask Stencil, Mid-Century Frame Die, and the XOXO & More Die Set.

Lilith took the assignment seriously and definitely didn't waste any supplies when creating her card! She used a few leftover patterned papers from her 6×6 scrapbook paper stash to die cut the cover die and voila!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope you like my cards! Will you try a 2-for-1 card idea?  And if you do, comment down below!
