Hi all! I'm thrilled to be sharing a few cards made with stamps from the amazing second release. The first two cards use the same diamond bead pattern stamp from Modern Beadwork.

Altenew Modern Beadwork True Friend Card

Different shades of blue and some second generation stamping create an ombre look. I filled the middle of the diamonds on the left with yellow to balance the gold-embossed “friend” sentiment.

Altenew Modern Beadwork Stitched Sentiment Card

The diamond bead pattern is big enough to cover a card fairly quickly. I wanted to create a cozy sweater feel for this card so I stamped the diamond in several rich, fall colors. A stitched sentiment goes along with the cozy sweater feel, and I've used a portion of one of the sentiments inModern Beadwork for a secondary sentiment.

Altenew Geometric Menagerie Card Upcycled Paper Bags

The animals in Geometric Menagerie look good colored, or just embossed in silver like on this card. The mountain is made from a few crumpled up pieces of a grocery bag. I was happy to find a patterned paper with tiny triangles to line the inside of the card (Studio Calico Sundrifter.)

Altenew Scribbled Flowers Friendship Card

The Scribbled Flowers set makes it easy to create a single bloom and have it be the star of the show, like this red and blue beauty. The blue background is distress ink and water that's been smashed onto the card with an acrylic block. A strip of Crate Paper gold dots on vellum is layered over the distress ink, along with some green sequins, and gold thread. I must be pretty messy, as there are a few huge blobs of ink that made it to the inside of the card!

Altenew Scribbled Flowers Script Painting

The final card is one layer with black Scribbled Flowers on top, and the same peacock blue distress ink watercolored on the rest of the card. After the watercolor dried, I used a paint brush and black acrylic paint to make my own sentiment in the script style that Kal Barteski does so well. The double-sided paper inside is from a Pebbles line. A fun birthday invitation in my Paper Source catalog inspired this card design.

Well I hope you enjoyed the cards from the Modern Beadwork, Geometric Menagerie, and Scribbled Flowers sets. Thanks so much to Tasnim and Jen for inviting me to participate in the Altenew second release! I had an absolute blast playing with their stamps!!

Wonderful cards, Kelly. I love your paper bag mountains and the smashed ink background. I had to laugh at that since I usually say smooshed which is a kinder, gentler action than smashing.
