Missing someone? I think this is just a perfect way to let them know you do. :) I adore the animals in the Geometric Menagerie set, and love that you can make them playful or sophisticated, depending on your own style! In my little scene here, I wanted to create a Polar Bear, wandering across the snow…
After heat embossing the sentiment and the bear onto watercolor paper, I did a wash of blue starting at the top, letting it fade more as I got towards the lower portion. Bear was initially a beautimous soft blue… But, he kinda disappeared against the sky… Hmmmmm. No worky. So, I painted over just him with clean water, and then blotted it away with some paper towel. This worked awesome and I had my white bear back! *insert monkey clapping here* Then I went back in and just painted blue along the inside of his outline.
Some strips of gold foil patterned vellum, and washi tape, little star sequins an some sparkly glitter seemed to finish off my little scene quite nicely… So, I sat on my hands and decided to leave well enough alone. :)
Thanks to Tasnim and Jennifer for letting me share with you today!

Monkey-clapping, indeed. You should be doing gorilla-clapping over this one. Love the whimsy and the colors you’ve chosen. Those gold highlights don’t hurt any, either.

Brrr… it just got cold in here. I can feel the snow and the big empty space. Fabulous scene.
Stunning! I love the wintery scene! So happy to see Julie’s guest design work here!
