Hi everyone! Svitlana is here today sharing a card made using incredible Magnolias For Her set.
For the color combo for this card I decided to take gray, deep red and white. Gray is a magical color. It coordinates with anything and anything makes looking better.
To start off I cut a panel out of Pale Gray cardstock and inked it with gray distress ink. I did my inking intentionally uneven to make it more dynamic. Next I slightly sprayed the panel with water, so distress ink reacted with it and added some visual texture to the background.
Next I started working on my floral cluster. I embossed in silver a couple of big flowers, several buds and loose petals onto a white cardstock and cut the out. The big flowers I colored using my gouache paint. This paint is similar to watercolor but more opaque. The other elements, like buds and petals I decided to leave them white to add contrast to the gray background as well as deep red flowers.
I assembled my floral cluster first adhering red magnolias to the background. I adhered the left one flat, with its petals bent a bit and the right flowers I adhered using thick clear dot, to give it some dimension.
All other items I tacked under both magnolias, adhering some of them flat and some – using thick glue dots to add dimension and some dynamic to this cluster.
I stamped a sentiment from the same stamps set onto a piece of white cardstock, which I adhered under the cluster using white foam squares. To finish off my card I added several marshmallow sequins and put some dots using a white pen.
Hope you're having a fantastic day!

Thank you, Melissa!
This is very pretty Svitlana. I think I need to go in search of Gouache in that deep red!
Thank you Vicky! Mine is Reeves one, I used Magenta, Carmine and some brown.
Svitlana when you start with grey, I’m in love immediately! Gorgeous blooms … you are the second person today that has used gouache!

Thank you, Michele!
I love this. I’ve never seen a card using gouache before and I was stunned at how beautiful it is. I have a set of paints (which I was sent accidentally when I ordered water colors) but never used them. You’ve inspired me to get them out and give them a try. Lovely, lovely work.
Thank you, Annie! Gouache is an interesting medium, it maybe was your good luck to accidentally got them :)
Absolutely stunning and loving the colours you’ve used. The deep red is so dramatic and loving it!

I saw this card for the first time today and it touched me deeply. I’m sure it was because of the deep red color with the white and gray. Just awesome!
