Build-A-Garden: Frilly Begonia
Begonias are often admired for their intricate and vibrant leaves. Their ornamental foliage can symbolize beauty, elegance, and aesthetic appreciation. The Build-A-Garden: Frilly Begonia Stamp Set showcases two exquisite arrangements of begonia flowers while capturing their delicate beauty and frilly texture. Each arrangement is meticulously illustrated, highlighting the intricate details of the petals, leaves, and stems. In addition, the stamp set includes a collection of heartfelt and versatile greetings, designed to convey warmth and thoughtfulness.
I used alcohol markers to color my Build-A-Garden: Frilly Begonia project for the Marvelous Monthly release hop (which you can check out HERE), but today, I thought I'd use the simple coloring stencils included in the kit! These stencils are different from the typical layering stencils in that they provide more of a color-blocked look rather than adding dimension or shape. It's super unique! Let's get started with the details.
To start, I heat embossed both large images from the Frilly Begonia stamp set onto some white cardstock using Altenew's Rose Gold Embossing Powder. I then used the small blending brushes with the Red Sunset Fresh Dye Ink quartet and the Marshland and Sea Forest inks from the Nature's Wonders Crisp Dye ink quartet to add the unique color-blocked stenciling. I die-cut the finished images with the coordinating add-on dies.

The beautiful floral images in the Frilly Begonia stamp set are pretty generously sized; they can easily stand alone on an A2 card front. I die-cut a full-size slimline panel using the Nesting Slim Rectangles die set to allow me to use both images. I lightly blended Rouge ink from the Red Sunset Fresh Dye Ink quartet around the edges to create a light glow on the card base. I mounted the stenciled floral images on the slimline card front using Instant Dimension Foam Tape, trimming off the excess to make the edges nice and straight. I love the crisp, fresh coral and white color palette!

For the greeting, I die cut a “hello” greeting from the Simple Greetings Die Set using some coordinating rose gold metallic cardstock, backing the detail layer with the outline layer cut from vellum. I paired the simple greeting die cut with a hot foiled sentiment strip created using the Essential Sentiments hot foil plate and coordinating die, which I hot foiled onto white cardstock using Brass hot foil. I popped these two sentiment pieces up with more dimensional foam adhesive and added a few gems for some sparkle!
Well, that's all for my project today! The coloring stencils with the Build-A-Garden bundles make creating lovely, colorful blooms a breeze! Thanks so much for stopping by today, and have a marvelous day!
