Hello, Altenew friends! Welcome to our February 2020 Guest Designer post! Today's guest designer isn't a stranger to Altenew. We know you have seen her A LOT in our release blog hops, Facebook Lives, and you've heard her voice in some of our product intro videos! It's the super talented Amber Davis! We are truly blessed to have Amber's love and support and we have always admired her incredible creativity. Oh and she's also an Altenew Certified Educator – how awesome is this lady?! Feel free to check out her blog and have a quick look through her Instagram feed.
Get to know Amber!
Hey guys, I’m Amber and making pretty things with my hands is something I’m compelled to do daily. I’m a wife, and mom to 3 daughters and making keeps me centered. Color drives my creativity, whether it’s in the form of alcohol markers, watercolor, inks, fabric, paper, they all inspire me! Flowers are my favorite subject to color which is what draws me to Altenew.
I’m a Certified Altenew Educator and Certified Zentangle Teacher (CZT) and have been making cards for 3 years. I adore playing with supplies, learning through experimentation, and sharing techniques. I’d love for you to join me on my creative journey!
Let's take a look at Amber's projects!
Today, I’m sharing a set of celebratory cards and one tag featuring the Fantastic Floral Fantasies Creativity Kit. Are you ready to watercolor, use 3D dies, and layer stamp?
By the way, I was informed by Altenew that the Fantastic Floral Fantasies Creativity Kit is currently VERY low in stock, so make sure you grab it today before it's gone!
Fantasy Floral Twofer
These cards feature the Fantasy Floral 3D Die Set and lovely patterned paper from the Verdant Walk 6×6 Paper Pack. Creating a twofer card set is a great way to get the most out of a piece of 6×6 paper.
I used Watercolor 36 Pan Set and Metallic Watercolor 14 Pan Set to paint a panel to coordinate with the patterned paper. Two 3D flowers were die cut from the panel and leaves were die cut from creamy pink metallic paper.
Foam adhesive added an extra dimension to the 3D flowers. Sentiments from More than Words and Sentiment Strips Stamp Sets were stamped with Obsidian Pigment Ink.
Dreamy Watercolor Tag
A tag was die cut from the leftover watercolor panel. To coordinate with the muted tones, I stamped the smallest flower from Floral Fantasy Stamp Set in Soft Lilac and Mountain Mist Inks. Leaves were die cut from vellum to enhance the dreamy ethereal look.
A More than Words sentiment was stamped with Industrial Diamond Ink.
Simply Amazing Card
Layer-stamped Floral Fantasy takes center stage on this card. I used Tea Party Crisp Dye Inks to create 3 different toned flowers. All the layers of the lightest flower were stamped in Pink Pearl Ink for a soft subtle look.
I swiped Misty Morning Crisp Dye Ink over the left side of an A2-sized card front to create a quick background. A More Than Words sentiment was stamped in Dusk and Dark Night Inks.
You can see how these projects came together in the video below or watch it in HD on Altenew's YouTube channel.
Thank you so much for stopping by today! I hope you were inspired by my project ideas featuring this amazing Creativity Kit!

These cards are beyond stunning! WOW! WOW! WOW! and to think I have all these supplies to make these cards and I haven’t even come close to the wow factor you have created, even though they are some of my all time favorites, and I have used them many times.
You have re-inspired me to get out these dies and stamp sets and try and recreate the looks you have done. They are beyond amazing! The only thing I am missing is the pattern paper!
Really nice blog.
The Floral Fantasy Die was the first layered floral die I owned and I still love it. Amber’s cards are beautiful and I love them too!
Very beautiful cards, thanks for the great inspiration!
