Hello, Altenew friends!
Father's Day is just around the corner and we know you are all looking for some quick and easy project inspiration to help you create beautiful handmade cards for the dads in your life. A simple card would surely brighten up their day – whether it's for your dad, husband, brother, cousin, a male friend, a male coworker – or simply an acquaintance.
Hence, we are dropping by to bring you LOTS of card inspiration featuring Altenew products! We hope you find a technique or two to try!
Let's get started!
Keep it Clean, Simple, and Straightforward!
Sometimes you just have to keep everything clean, simple, and straightforward! Our Best Dad Stamp Set will help you do that. The Best Dad Stamp Set has a variety of images and sentiments which are perfect not just for Father's Day cards but for any masculine or “for him” card. Mix and match them to create different designs!
Check out how our design team and guest designers played with this set.
Making your Father's Day message stand out is easy peasy with our Caps Bold Alphabet Die Set! Check out these project inspiration by Svitlana and Erum.
Play with Different Backgrounds!
If you are having trouble finding a “masculine” image for your Father's Day cards, a simple sentiment will do. You can always make up for it by playing with your background! Use different colored cardstocks, create your own background with watercolors or ink sprays, use stencils to create a patterned/textured background, or simply add washi tapes to your card panel. The possibilities are simply endless! By creating your own background, you can also play with the color combination and make it more “manly”.
Therese and Svitlana both decided to use the versatile Inline Alpha Die Set to spell out “best dad” in their beautiful cards!
Laurel decided to use our Peach Gold Washi Tape for a quick and easy background.
The “star” of Enza's card is the die-cut star from Halftone Stars Nesting Die Set! We totally love the woodgrain background too!
Another proof that a simple colored cardstock would do. It's perfect for quick and easy cards too!
A black and white striped paper from our Scrapbook Memory Collection made Reiko's Father's Day card extra special.
A little ink blending wouldn't hurt! It would also help you get creative with your ink colors. Nina Marie's precious card also features our Flat & Fold Alpha Die Set and Snapshots Stamp Set.
Use Florals!
Who says you can't use our beautiful floral stamps on your Father's Day cards? Or any masculine card, for that matter? It's all about creativity! You can stamp the florals with a subtle or light color in the background, use neutral colors and make it the focal point, or simply stamp or color it in with a “masculine” color!
LauraJane's Father's Day card features our Charmed Stamp Set, which she watercolored in shades of blue, green, and yellow using our Tropical Fiesta Watercolor Brush Markers Set.
Alex made the floral image from Wallpaper Art Stamp Set the focal point of her Father's Day card by gold heat-embossing it and letting its natural beauty shine. She also stamped the circle images from Rennie Roses Mask Stencil in blue for a more masculine background.
The images our Best Dad Stamp Set may be the focal point in Lydia's card, but she made sure to add the floral sprigs from Best Mom Stamp Set in the background for a bit of flair. How cool is her CAS card?!
The cotton plant from our Cotton Comfort Stamp Set is simply perfect if you want to add some florals in your card but don't want it to have too much of a “feminine” vibe. Jen also used the Wood Pallet Background Stamp Set, stamped on a Parchment Cardstock, which is a great way to make a quick background for masculine cards.
Explore other images and patterns!
Animals, foliage, nature, ninjas, and more! You can explore different stamp images and play with patterns for your Father's Day cards!
The Geometric Menagerie Stamp Set has fun and cheesy puns paired with geometric animal images that will definitely put a smile on the recipient's face.
We totally adore how Karin creatively used the cute hand-drawn fox in our Hug Me Stamp Set and our Sketchy Cities America Stamp Set to create her unique and fun Father's Day card!
Olga and LauraJane both had the wonderful idea of using the triangle images in our Trigonometry Stamp Set on their cards. Pretty cool, right?
How beautiful are the birds (from Birds of a Feather Stamp Set) in Emily's card? That heartfelt sentiment + the subtle florals in the background (from Frosted Garden Stamp Set) made it even more special!
Sometimes all you really need is LOVE! And Alex made sure to get her message across in this simple Father's Day card, which also features a bit of “nature” from our Wild Ferns Stamp Set. Her sentiment is from the Mega Greetings 3 Stamp Set.
