Hi, it's Therese, and I am back with another edition of Take 2 with Therese. Today, I'm sharing two cards made using the beautiful Zero Waste Leaf Pattern Die!
I love a ‘two-for' design where you can create 2 projects with 1 die-cut, and this die is perfect for this technique!
Time for Some Beautiful Watercolor Leaves!
I started by creating a quick and easy vibrant watercolor background. I used a piece of Watercolor Paper with the Watercolor Brush Marker Refills and some fun splattering/smooshing techniques; it was such fun to make! And there are MANY colors to choose from, so you could mix whatever you think will suit your project. Today, I was thinking of muted, more ‘autumn' tones. After the panel had dried, I die cut it with the Zero Waste Leaf Pattern Die.
Card # 1 – For You
This die is fabulous because you can use both the negative and positive portions, and for this design, I used the ‘negative' space to add a bold background.
BONUS IDEA: For a totally different look you can change up the white background with colored cardstock, black or even gold would look amazing!
I added a Mega Label Love sentiment popped up with some Foam Tape.
As well as a black heart enamel dot from the Essential Black & White Enamel Dots Set.
Card # 2 – Happy Birthday
This card uses the positive portions of the die-cut. I made the leaves into a bouquet to create a very clean and simple design. Then, I tied the bouquet together with some Metallic Thread and added an enamel dot. This time, I added a sentiment from the Birthday Greetings Stamp Set.
BONUS TIP: You could also create a similar background using watercolors or even a piece of design paper if time is tight!
Then, I decorated around the bouquet with some die-cut circles and some ‘tiny' Antique Gold Sequins.
You can see my video here or watch it in HD on YouTube.

I love the idea of ‘zero waste’ Therese – you’ve used every inch of your paper in two beautiful ways!

Indeed Michele!
I loved the white one the best. Loved the black dot too.
Thank you Doreen!
