I read a quote from a 7-year-old the other day, saying that adults get boring mail that comes in long white envelopes. Bills! No fun! A handmade card is the best way to change up that boring mail and send a paper hug! I love to put my cards in colored envelopes and add happy mail stickers just to make the packing cute, too… but the card inside is the fun part!
Easy Handmade Card Idea
To create this paper hug, I stamped out the beautiful image from Build-A-Garden: Tulips and Friends. Of course, this stamp has the most awesome coordinating stencils to add color. Such a great way to make a quick and easy focal point on your cards!
First, I outlined the handmade card front in Altenew's Satin Masking Tape. This tape is amazing! I love the low tack it has and how well it works for masking or just holding dies or stencils. Using a Blending Tool, I added a little Sunray Ink in the background along the masked edge.
After adding the blooms to the card front with Altenew's Instant Dimension Foam Tape, I hot foiled the “hugs” friend sentiments from Versatile Greetings Hot Foil Plates and cut them out with the dies from Versatile Greetings Die Set. Using a little bit more foam tape, I popped up the sentiment on the card.
I hope you are inspired today to send a hug in the mail through a handmade card. I know it would result in a smile! Have a great day!
