Easy Two-Toned Card with Floral Acanthus

by Svitlana Shayevich

Hi friends!

Svitlana is here. Today, I want to share an easy two-toned floral card made using the Craft Your Life Project Kit: Floral Acanthus.

This kit is such a pleasure to work with. You stamp all the florals at once using the stamp from the kit, then you can color them together in one swoop using the coloring stencil. And, finally, die cut them all using the matching die, which contains all the die-cut designs connected.

How to Create a Two-Toned Card with Floral Acanthus

First, I created floral elements for my card using the mentioned products from the kit.

I stamped the large stamp from the Craft Your Life Project Kit: Floral Acanthus Stamp Set onto a Solar White Cardstock using the Dark Chocolate Dye Ink.

To color the stamped elements, I used Autumn Blaze, Firebrick, Burnt Red, Mahogany Bark, Forest Glades, and Evergreen Dye Inks, as well as the Craft Your Life Project Kit: Floral Acanthus Layering Stencil Set and Mini Bending Brushes.

Finally, I die cut all the elements using the die from the Craft Your Life Project Kit: Floral Acanthus Die Set.

To make the embossed background, I used the Craft Your Life Project Kit: Floral Acanthus Botanical 3D Embossing Folder, which I applied to a Forest Glades Cardstock panel.

To highlight the embossed design, I blended Evergreen Dye Ink along the panel edges using a Large Blending Brush. The front panel was foam mounted onto a white card base. After that, I adhered the floral elements onto it forming a center cluster.

To make the sentiment label, I used the One-Go Birthday Greetings Stamp & Die Bundle. The sentiment was foam mounted onto the card.

Lastly, I added white and black splatters to bring more interest to the card.

To create this card, I used the same colors for the background and numerous leafy elements. I like using this trick to create an illusion of a blurred or unfocused garden background with a pop of color of the floral in the focus.

Since the die-cuts have white borders, it prevents them from blending into the background. On the other hand, being stamped with the same color make them look like they belong.

I hope you liked this card featuring the Floral Acanthus Kit.

Have a wonderful day!
