Clean and Simple Memory Keeping – Pocket Page Layout feat. Fresh Dye Inks
What better way to highlight a story than through photos, clean lines, and a pop of color.
My choice for today was to show you how to create a clean and simple memory-keeping pocket page that showcases the story through the colors of the inks.
Pocket Page
In order to highlight the story, first, I transformed my photos into black and white images. This allows for a cohesive look for the page while bringing the focus to each of the pocket spaces in the grid. A clean and simple memory-keeping layout means that each section of the spread is defined, focused, and free from too many fillers. I am using these concepts to create my sentiment pocket card.
I used the Frosted Foliage Fresh Dye Inks Bundle and Woodland Escape Fresh Dye Inks Bundle to create two gradient lines in the sentiment card. Then, I stamped the small floral image from the Castle Garden Stamp Set at the bottom of the card. Finally, I used Indigo Skies Fresh Dye Ink and Meadow Reflections Stamp Set to add a small butterfly and the sentiment to the card. A few enamel dots complete the card and spread.
Title Page
One of the main qualities of a clean and simple memory-keeping layout is negative space.
This is the reason I am creating a separate title page for the spread, following the same colors and design as the sentiment pocket card.
Since, I have a larger space to fill, my choice was to create a focal point (grounding spot) for the page using lines of blended ink. My choice to intersect lines adds interest to the page plus defines a spot for title placement.
In order to finish my clean and simple memory-keeping layout, I decided to add a bit of texture and movement to the page.
Using the Indigo Skies Fresh Dye ink, I created the shadow die cuts for the title work (You Matter Die Set) and the butterflies die-cuts (Meadow Reflections Stamp and Die Bundle).
