Hello there! This is Virginia here. I am delighted to share a few fun projects on using shape dies such as “Night Before Christmas Stamp & Die Bundle” . The Christmas Tree Shape Dies are the perfect size for DIY gift tags, gift toppers or Christmas ornaments. The idea came to me when I saw Doodled Lace Cover Die on my craft desk. I thought these two dies would make a great pair and here are the results.
I took some photos while creating so you can get a visual of my creative process.
After the die cutting, I applied Embossing Ink all over the cut out from Doodled Lace Cover Die. I then embossed it in two types of Embossing Powders.
The two-tone embossing powders are: Antique Silver and Platinum.
After embossing the die cut a few times, I adhered it to the pattern paper from 6×6 Reflection Paper Pad. This one was embossed with Rose Gold and Copper.
I added strings and an extra piece of tree die cut at the back. This “ornament” can also stand on its own like a card!
Since I was on a roll, I decided to create colorful sets with Cherry Blossom Oval Set/ Mini Cubes, Deep Blue Seas Oval Set/ Mini Cubes and Shades of Purple Oval Set/ Mini Cubes.
The green stripey paper from Reflection Paper Pad seemed to fit this design nicely. Of course, we must add some glitter and shine to these colorful ornaments. Well, Crystal Clear Crisp Embossing Powder came to the rescue! The new Embossing Ink made this task a breeze! You can also use Halftone Circles , Halftone Hearts and Halftone Stars with any cover dies that your heart desire!
I hope today's post inspires you to create your own tree ornaments, gift toppers, tags, place cards….etc. Even better, get the little ones involved and have some fun crafting together. Thanks so much for your feedback and comments. See you next time!

These are fantastic Virginia…awesome idea.. Going to make a few of these for my tree from foil cardstock..maybe emboss them them as well…!!! :)
LOVE LOVE LOVE your idea using foil card stock!! Now you’ve inspired me!
The ornaments you made with the tree die and the doodle lace cover die are absolutely the most elegant thing I have seen made with paper! The two colors of embossing powder really adds so much to the design. If they were smaller they would make a beautiful pendant. I enjoy your cards/designs, but these really are amazing.
Dear Linda, thank you for your positive feedback…I actually wasn’t so sure about these “ornaments” at first, but I figure it’s a good idea and should still share it. You’ve made my day!
BEAUTIFUL! I love your Christmas tree tags, and what an awesome way to use those cover dies! LOVE the two toned metallic embossing powders, so elegant!
