Hello, Altenew friends! Norine here with you today to share a couple of cards made using the Folksy Florals Stamp and Die Bundle!
I am particularly drawn to basic stamping on die-cuts made of simple patterned papers and I wanted to do that with the Folksy Florals set. I went through my patterned paper stash drawer looking for scrap pieces with the most basic of pattern designs, (usually tone-on-tone) and then I die cut an assortment of shapes with the Folksy Florals die set. After that, I began to layer them and build up the simple floral shapes I've used on these cards. I brushed the edges of the floral shapes and flower centers with a foam applicator and some Crisp Dye Inks in matching tones and stamped the leaf textures and stem lines in Moss and Evergreen inks.
I cut out a “window” from a piece of white cardstock to create a frame for the first card and then I used that center cut piece to create the block for the flowers on the second card to be adhered to.
For the card above, I added some hand-drawn doodle lines to frame the opening and to tie it to the stamped sentiment and for the second card, I felt there was enough going on with colors and patterns to leave the stamped sentiment to stand alone. The sentiments on both cards are created from the assorted sentiment choices of the Folksy Florals Stamp Set.
This is a very quick and simple technique that produces a fun and cheery card!
Thanks for stopping by today and I'll see you again soon!
