Die-Cutting Two Ways

by jocelynolson1

Hi all! It's Jocelyn on the blog today.

I have a card playing on positive and negative die-cuts:

I actually made this card at the same time as these Altenew cards. I used the leaf from the Lacy Scrolls dies and simply die-cut it out of linen cardstock. I die-cut the leaf a second time from smooth cardstock (although I could have used the original die-cut) and stamped it with the Lacy Scrolls stamps and Buttercream ink.
Smile
I added one of the scrolls from the Lacy Scrolls set and tucked it behind the leaf. For the sentiment, I used the “smile” from Floral Motifs and stamped it twice. To finish the card, I added some layers, washi, stitching, and splatter.

I looked at my Altenew dies, and I thought there were dies out of each set that would look very cool as both positive and negative die-cuts. If you've used both positive and negative die-cuts on a card, please share a link. We'd love to see it! Thanks for stopping by!

Just like in Watercolor, negative space can make your project positively awesome. Very nice!

I think I need to try this — using the positive and negative die cuts on the same card! It’s beautiful.
