Dahlia and Sunflower Bouquet

by Svitlana Shayevich

Hi everyone! Svitlana is here today.  Happy Labor Day to those US-located. Hope you're enjoying the last summer, a long weekend with your families and friends.

I want to share a card using two of my favorite stamp sets – Dahlia Blossoms and Spring Daisy. Once I saw wedding bouquets and floral arrangements using dahlia and sunflowers, I thought that was a great idea. So, I decided to try it on a card.

First I stamped the dahlias using the Dusk and Desert Night inks and die cut them using the matching dies. Next, I stamped daisies using the Mango Smoothie, Warm Sunshine, and Dark Chocolate inks, so they looked like sunflowers and die-cut them using the matching dies as well.

And I also stamped and die cut leaves from both stamp sets using the Forest Glades and Evergreen inks.

I arranged my bouquet by adhering flowers and leaves on a card base I made out of Classic Crest Solar White cardstock. Some of them I was adhering flat, some I used dimensional adhesive squares.

To finish off my card I stamped and cut out the sentiment using the Label Love stamp set and Dark Chocolate ink. I adhered it to on the floral arrangements, followed by adding several clear droplets of different sizes.

Have a great day!

It’s lovely. Since you mentioned the dies and leaves…am I crazy, or do the Spring Daisy dies only cut one of the leaves? The single one, but not the double? I thought maybe I lost a die…

Thank you, Terri. You’re right, there is only one leaf die in this set, you didn’t lose anything. I cut the second one out using my scissors. The shape of it pretty basic, it’s easy to cut it out.

Thank you, Janet! I noticed that often use these colors together. Maybe because they remind me Ukrainian flag :)
