I have been a little out of the swing of things lately, when it comes to my scrapping. Do card maker's have the same problem? Sometimes you just aren't in the right creative head space and all that comes out is just…blah. I find in times such as these, the best thing you can do is return to the basics. For me that's a photo, papers and embellishments that mean something. That's exactly how this monochrome beauty came be.
You have seen my use this the red/pink watercolour paper so many times before. It is without a doubt my favourite paper in the Reflection Scrapbook Collection. I did however take advantage of the new 6×6 paper pad to make a pretty little boarder with the rose paper.
I used embellishments from both the Refection Collection and the New Day Card Kit to add a little more dimension to my layout. The wooden buttons and geometric veneers work so well together, in my opinion.
I did, however use a few buttons from my stash. It's a bit of an inside joke really. Chris tells Eva all the time that she is ‘as cute as a button' – a saying that I will never understand. I don't really find them cute. In fact when I give it some thought, buttons really only serve a practical purpose in my life , but I guess thats a diatribe for another day.
We are old friends by now, so you now my feelings on titles. I just wanted something elegant and simple. Lucky Altenew has you covered for all your one line sentiments. Mine came from the Best Dad Stamp Set.
I used a splash of Altenew's amazingly shiny Coral Berry and Ruby Red Spray Ink to carry on the mixed media feel from the watercolour paper and there you have it, another beautiful page for Eva's album.

Love all the details (and the stories behind them). You got me thinking about “cute as a button”, so I had to google it. It’s not the saying we thought! See Here
Aimee, your layout is gorgeous!
Just WOW!
Loved the floral frame set card – AMAZING work on that! Daddy’s Little Girl was very nice as well. The content softened the geo design …..!
