Sweater Pattern Builder Stencil Set (2 in 1)

The Sweater Pattern Builder Stencil Set draws inspiration from thick, cozy winter sweaters. This set includes two stencils designed to help you create a warm knit pattern. The two layers fit together seamlessly, like a puzzle, making it easy to apply ink in your favorite colors. Whether it's for the holidays or year-round, you can effortlessly craft a pattern that suits any occasion!

Textile Patterns #1: Sweater Pattern Builder Stencil

For this project, we'll be using the Sweater Pattern Builder Stencil, which consists of two 6×6 stencils.

These stencils allow you to create the characteristic knit stitch that fills an entire A2 card panel. You can use both stencils for a solid knit stitch background or experiment with different colors for a knitted color pattern background.

To create a holiday-themed card, I was inspired by the 2024 Pantone color, Peach Fuzz. I found a cardstock that matched this shade and used it as my base color.

Using an embossing ink pad, I pressed it directly onto the stencil, capturing the open pattern. Then, I covered the panel with white embossing powder for a wintry touch. Next, I used the number 1 layer stencil and filled in the remaining pattern with Acai Berry in Dried Petals Fresh Dye Ink.

To complete the card, I added a stunning focal point using the Layered Snowflakes Die Set.

I combined Brushed Copper Cardstock, vellum, and white cardstock to create layers of snowflakes. Once assembled, I foam-mounted the snowflake onto the Sweater Pattern Builder Stencil background and finished the card with Satin White Sequins.

This versatile stencil can be used throughout the colder months and isn't limited to just the winter holidays.

Textile Patterns #2: Watercolor Stripes Stencil

For the second card, we'll be using the Watercolor Stripes Stencil. This versatile stencil, along with other striped stencils like Beach Towel Stripes and Ombre Stripes, allows you to create stunning textile patterns.

Using a colored cardstock similar to Arctic, I started by ink blending Caribbean Sky for a monochrome color blend.

To create a more organic pattern, I turned the stencil 90 degrees and applied Lagoon Fresh Dye Ink from the Sea Shore Ink family. I then distressed the pattern by brushing the ink on the corners to create a lived-in look.

To add an extra dimension, I used Titanium White Gouache and a waterbrush to create alternating fine lines throughout the background. The Watercolor Stripes Stencil was perfect for this Tartan pattern, as the shaky and uneven lines created a playful background.

Lastly, I added white splatters for a distressed feel and embellished the card with a glittery sentiment and Sea Shore Enamel Dots.
