Hi friends! Emily Midgett here with you today for another Creativity Unlocked, and I have some sparkling holiday inspiration using the new Winter Ice Skate Die Set. I found the sweet vintage vibe of these ice skate dies to be enchanting. They reminded me of Meet Me In St. Louis Christmas scenes with their vintage charm. I paired them with some older holiday products from Altenew's holiday lineup, so let's get started with the details!

To start, I die cut two of the Winter Ice Skate dies from Dazzling Diamond Glitter Paper, Brushed Silver Metallic Cardstock, and regular white cardstock to create these super sparkly ice skates worthy of an Olympic performance!! I die cut the little holiday sprigs from some deep mauve and pale mint cardstocks to keep things as light and crisp as possible, and adhered all of the components with liquid glue.

Next, I ran a panel of white cardstock through my die cutting machine with the Layered Snowflakes 3D Embossing Folder to create a super wintry background for my skates. To enhance the icy feel of the card, I used blending tools to lightly blend Mint Choc and Blueberry inks from the Frozen Delights ink set around the edges of the embossed panel. Adding some light blending around the edges helps to bring out the details of the beautifully embossed background, as well as add some coordinating color to the aesthetic of the card.

I wanted to keep things relatively simple for the greeting, so I die cut the Happy Holidays Script Die from some coordinating pale icy blue cardstock. I adhered the ice skate die cuts to the embossed card front with liquid adhesive and foam adhesive, clustering them as a little group so that they looked like they were hanging up, just waiting for their next ice skating session! I tucked the sentiment amongst the skates and finished the project off with some sparkling aqua gems for added shine!
Well, that's all for my project today! I am always so excited when October rolls around… it feels like I can officially start shifting into holiday mode without worrying about anybody teasing me about my Christmas music. I hope you're enjoying getting into the holiday spirit with us! Thanks so much for stopping by today, and have a marvelous day!
