Spark Joy: Sweet Greetings
Inspired by the popular Moroccan trellis patterns, Spark Joy: Sweet Greetings features a beautiful arched doorway/window-like pattern, along with two versatile sentiments – “hello” & “sweet greetings!” Robins have been a symbol of good luck, happiness, rebirth, and sometimes even as a messenger for lost loved ones. This unique layering stencil set features a beautiful layered robin on a branch and is a perfect focal point alongside the Sweet Greetings Hot Foil Plate.
I have made two beautiful cards using the gorgeous set Spark Joy: Sweet Greetings!
Are You READY?
Have you ever looked at your supplies and used them in different ways than intended?
Technique # 1 – Window Background
This background Hot Foil Plate is actually an ‘arch' and I wanted to create a window for the background. This was very easy to do. I simply created 2 arch panels with Navy Cardstock and Brushed Gold Hot Foil. Then I fussy cut them to reveal the window. I simply reversed one of the images and adhered them directly to the card base. I covered the joins of the arch with my sentiment and flower. The flower I used in today's design was made using the beautiful Prickly Pear Die Set.
I also added a sentiment from the Elegant Sayings Set, it's so easy to have the coordinating dies for these sentiments. But you could also use a die cut sentiment here too!
PRO TIP:
If fussy cutting is not your thing, you could create this without the window, but I would suggest adding a bigger bouquet or sentiment to cover the joins of the design paper or cardstock.
Technique # 2 – Color Blocking
It's amazing how changing up a background can really alter the look of a card. Color blocking is a fun way to do this and it is simply what the name says it is—using blocks of color to create a design. This can be done in many ways but a quick and easy option is to use cardstock and design paper. I took it a little step further today and added the blocks of color on an angle. I chose a bright bold pink, Purple Wine, Navy and one of the blues from the Blends Paper Pad.
PRO TIP!
Create an A2 template window to be able to visualize what your colors will look like before cutting the cardstock or design paper.
This time I added a color coordinated stenciled bird from the Spark Joy set and a sentiment from the Bold Greetings Die Set.

1 Product, Multiple Ways!
Before you go, here are some more card ideas featuring this Spark Joy Set!
Teri also opted to add a window in her card. This makes the Spark Joy: Sweet Greetings the focal point and also made it seem like the beautiful robin is perched on a lush tree.
Bridget's version is beautiful and beginner-friendly! From her color choices to the way she utilized the arch-doorway, beginners need not worry when using the Spark Joy: Sweet Greetings set.
Nature is always a pretty inspiration, and Laura's card is a testament to that! The addition of flowers in the background made the layered robin pop.
Monochrome is in! Teri's card features multiple shades of gold and brown and the resulting output is both elegant and refined.
Two is better than one! Teri opted to add one more robin to the card making and the two make beautiful focal points.
