Prickly Pear Die Set
The prickly pear cactus boasts colorful blooms in a variety of warm and cool tones. Their delicate petals are a contrast to the thick and spiny green pads. This die set will help you create a unique arrangement of prickly pear flowers!
- Die cut the bigger flower from the Prickly Pear Die Set out of Sea Shore Gradient Cardstock Set, the smaller one, and the leaves out of Classic Crest Solar White Cardstock.
- Die cut the flower centers out of Gilded Glitter Cardstock and Brushed Gold Metallic Cardstock.
- Use Eastern Sky, Ultramarine, and Azurite Crisp Dye Inks to ink the layers of the smaller flower. Follow the layering guide on the packaging.
- Use Mountain Mist, Volcano Lake, and Emerald Crisp Dye Inks to ink the edges of the die-cuts.
- Use Bamboo and Moss Crisp Dye Inks to ink the leaves.
- Adhere all the layers together with liquid adhesive.
- Die cut Burlap Texture Die out of Gilded Glitter Cardstock. Set aside.
- Apply fine black splatters from Jet Black Ink Spray on a kraft cardstock panel on 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″.
- Next, apply gold paint splatters from the Metallic Watercolor 14 Pan Set.
- Cut and adhere the Burlap Texture die-cut with liquid adhesive.
- Then place the florals with Instant Dimension Foam Tape without pressing too hard.
- Tuck in the leaves and then press the florals to adhere them properly.
- To finish, adhere Antique Gold Sequins.

Bonus Pricky Pear Project
Die cut Prickly Pear Die Set out of 9×12 Watercolor Cardstock. Use Cherry Blossom and Red Cosmos watercolors from the Artists' Watercolor 24 Pan Set to color the flowers and color each layer using a different color concentration. Pick any yellows for the flower centers. To color the leaves, use Tropical Forest and mix it with a bit of Rock Collection to increase the concentration and depth. Once dry, adhere all pieces together.
For the background, apply a light color wash of Sea Shore watercolor on A2 Watercolor Cradstock, concentrating mainly on where your floral arrangement will be. Once dry, add a few splatters of the same watercolor for interest, and then dry the panel completely before adding fine black splatters. Arrange and adhere the floral arrangement. Add sentiment from the Elegant Sayings Stamp Set.
Thank you so much for stopping by!
