Card # 1 – ‘Learning the Image'
But first, I needed to get a feel for the colors and the Botanical Illustrations image that I was coloring. This was easy to do by simply coloring it on some white cardstock that I was already familiar with. Ultimately, I knew this would make it easier for me to know where to shade and leave highlights once I started using the Dark Gray Cardstock.
I kept the design very simple as I wanted the focus to be the coloring today, and I limited my color palette to the Artist Markers Beach Garden Set K only.
Now that I've had some ‘practice,' I'm ready to tackle the Dark Gray Cardstock. I used exactly the same technique and color palette, except this time, I found I had to use darker colors to compensate for the dark background.
I adore the subtle finished look and decided it would be perfect for a sympathy card. So, I added a sentiment from the Fragile Foliage Stamp Set.
