Honeycomb Daisies Cover Die

Enhance your handmade projects with the versatile Honeycomb Daisies Cover Die! The geometric honeycomb pattern adds subtle, yet intricate detail to backgrounds, with dashed lines creating a delicate effect. The charming daisy shape provides a lovely finishing touch to your creations.

This die has a delicate pattern covering the entirety of an A2 card, and my cards today use it as a traditional cover plate as well as an extra-fancy layer for my die-cut letters.

I love using these subtly detailed plates to add extra texture to a background, but they're also such fun to use with chunky standalone dies like the Caps Bold Alpha dies.

Both of my projects today feature a romantic cool pink and crisp white color palette, allowing the colorful area behind the detailed Honeycomb Daisies Cover Plate die cuts to enhance card details like the background and the die-cuts!

I used the Rose Petal Fresh Dye Ink quartet to create both of my projects today, as well as sparkling glitter cardstock from the Pink Brilliance Glitter Gradient Cardstock set.

Take a look and see how I used this cover plate die to enhance card details for my projects here!

How to Enhance Card Details with the Honeycomb Daisies Cover Plate Die

final 3

For my first card, I used Blending Brushes to blend Rose Quartz, Puffy Heart, Purple Wine, and Cosmic Berry Fresh Dye Inks from the Rose Petal Fresh Dye Ink quartet in an ombré down a full-size A2 card front.

I die cut the Honeycomb Daisies Cover Plate die from crisp white cardstock and layered it over the top with liquid adhesive.

I adore the contrast between the vivid pink background and the stitched and die cut details on the cover plate die-cut!

final 4

I used the same shades of Rose Petal Fresh Dye Ink to stamp a flower and some foliage from the Morning Flowers layering stamp set. I die cut the flower and leaves using the coordinating dies, then snipped the foliage apart to create two different leaf clusters.

Then, I die cut a greeting from the Timeless Sentiment dies set, cutting the detail layer using Pink Ruby glitter cardstock from the Pink Brilliance Glitter Gradient Cardstock set and the background layer from more crisp white cardstock. I popped up the greeting using Instant Dimension Foam Adhesive, then tucked the flowers and foliage around the greeting. A few sparkly pink jewels finished the project off!

final 6

For my second card, I wanted to capitalize on the delicate details of the Honeycomb Daisies Cover Plate die and use them to enhance the chunky Caps Bold Alpha dies. These die-cut letters are thick enough that they can handle a pattern without the intended letter being lost.

I die cut the HUGS twice: once from white cardstock and once from Pink Diamond glitter cardstock from the Pink Brilliance Glitter Gradient Cardstock set. I ran the white die-cut letters through my die-cutting machine again using the Honeycomb Daisies Cover Plate die to cut a pattern into the die cuts.

I adhered each coordinating letter together to create patterned die-cut letters!

final 7

After I had created my focal point, I blended Rose Quartz and Purple Wine inks from the Rose Petal Fresh Dye Ink family on a white card front. I then splattered this blended background with some pink metallic watercolor from the 14 Pan Metallic Watercolor set.

I popped up the large “hugs” using Instant Dimension Foam Adhesive, then added a “friend” die cut from some super dark maroon cardstock using the Timeless Sentiment dies set. Finally, I added a few more sparkling pink gems for one last touch of shimmer.

I adore detailed die cuts, and it's such fun to find new ways to incorporate and enhance card details. I encourage you to look at your detailed cover plate dies to see if you can use them to create patterns on your bold standalone dies!
