Hi there! Erum here today and I would like to welcome you to Altenew's new weekly feature – Creative Coloring with Erum! In this regular feature, you can expect different coloring techniques, tips, and tricks – from yours truly. I hope to inspire you to practice your coloring skill!
Today, I am kicking this off with a floral card featuring the Floral Art Stamp Set. I will be watercoloring using the Watercolor 36 Pan Set.
I started by stamping the flower from the Floral Art Stamp Set onto watercolor paper with a water-reactive ink. Next, I applied water onto the petal and added Cotton Candy Watercolor. I also mixed Cotton Candy and Citrus Burst Watercolor to make a slightly warmer shade of pink.
To show sunlight falling on the leaves, I also added a hint of Citrus Burst Watercolor directly.
For adding more shadows and depth, I used Grapevine Watercolor. I also used a very thin paintbrush (zero or zero-zero) to add fine vein-like lines onto the petals.
After I was done with the flower, I stamped the leaves by watercoloring on them with Frayed Leaf Watercolor. Then I used Bamboo, Forest Glades, and Evergreen to add details to the leaves.
To show that there is more greenery in the far-off distance, I added some stippling. After this, I added splatters of Forest Glades and Frayed Leaf Watercolors. After the splatters were dry, I stamped the sentiment from Smiles and Hugs Stamp Set. And then I added a few black paint splatters to the sentiment.
To finish, I adhered a few iridescent drops and confetti.
You can watch the coloring process below or on YouTube.

I have struggled to do the no-line watercolouring with any ‘feeling’ of success and really appreciate this tutorial. It is a wonderful tutorial showing your work step-by-step. I can’t wait to see this process done with artist markers. A very beautiful card! Thank you for sharing your talents!
Thanks Clelie! I have several videos showing how to use Artist Markers too. You can search the Altenew YouTube channel and you will find so many tutorials.

Watching you paint is a treat for the eyes! I’m so impressed by how much depth you achieve from a flat, stamped image. I also love the music you put behind this video. Can you tell me the name of the song? My daughters play the piano and the violin, and I would love for them to learn it. Thank you for sharing your amazing talent with us!
