Projects

Both the cards that I am sharing are very different from each other. I wanted to show you how you can do just a bit of masking to change the look of the stamp immensely.

Chic Monochrome Card

Altenew PAF Coral Sunset Stamp Set | Erum Tasneem | @pr0digy0

My first card is super simple and very easy to create. First, I used Obsidian Pigment Ink to stamp the image off the edge. Then, I made a partial mask and added a bit more stamping.

Next, I used very diluted black pigment and added it roughly to the image. I made sure not to cover the entire image with the pigment. This was just to add interest and depth. Once done, I dried the panel and added fine black paint splatters. To do this, I used the Watercolor Essential 12 Pan Set.

Next, I added scored lines to a black cardstock panel and adhered it to my card front. On top of this, I adhered the stamped pieces with foam tape.

To finish, I adhered the sentiments.

Now this one is also fairly easy. I stamped the Paint-A-Flower: Coral Sunset Outline Stamp Set on A2 Watercolor Cardstock in Obsidian Pigment Ink. Then, I heat embossed the image using Crystal Clear Embossing Powder.

I used the Watercolor 36 Pan Set to color the panel. First, I began by applying water to the image and dropped in Cosmic Berry pigment. This is an easy, carefree watercolor so just relax and don't overthink when recreating it. Watch the video to see how I added pigment. I kept the underside of the petals light and added concentrated pigment on the cupped petals.  This was to give an illusion of depth.

For the bud, I used a bit of Purple Wine and added Warm Sunshine pigment. You can dry between layers to make the process faster. But I just jumped from flower to flower. For the third flower, I used the Lavender Fields pigment and to this, I added Cosmic Berry pigment.

For the leaves, I just used Evergreen watercolor.

To color the background, I applied Lava Rock pigment. I kept it darker on the left side of the florals to show a bit of shadow. Once I was happy, I added splatters of the same and heat set the panel.

To finish, I stamped the sentiment in Obsidian Pigment Ink. And then I drew a border around the image using the Fine Liner Pen Set.

You can watch the process video below or on YouTube.
