How to Add Curls and Folds to Flowers | Creative Coloring with Erum

by Erum Tasneem

Hi there everyone! As promised, I am sharing the purple flower card with you today! My card features the Sparkled Stamp Set which I have colored with Artist Markers. I have a video for you to share how I add curls, folds, and vein-like details to my flower petals.

Coloring:

Firstly, stamp the images in Permanent Black Ink on Crest Solar White Cardstock. Use, Lavender Fields and Soft Lilac Artist Alcohol Markers from the Shades of Purple Set of Artist Alcohol Markers to color the flower.

To add interest, I will use the tip-to-tip method and pick up color from Midnight Violet Artist Marker with Soft Lilac. And this is what creates the pinkish streaks on the petals.

To make this flower appear a little different, I will add dots (stippling) close to the flower center and spread them out to the petals. Use a white gel pen to add more details. The Sparkled Stamp Set does come with a detailed flower center, you can definitely skip this step and stamp that instead.

For the leaves, I used the Sea Shore Artist Alcohol Markers Set.

Assembling:

Next, I stamped the sentiment on the card front in Obsidian Ink. Then I added splatters of black paint from the 12 Pan Essential Watercolor Set.

To finish, I adhered the floral images with foam tape.
