Coloring the Background
Firstly, I cut a 9″ x 4″ panel out of 9 x 12 Watercolor Cardstock. Next, I applied water to the top, left edge, and the bottom of the panel. After this, I applied pigment directly from the Emerald Watercolor Brush Marker. Then, I added some water before applying the next pigment. This pigment is the Lagoon Watercolor Brush Marker pigment. To the top left portion, I applied the Desert Night Watercolor Brush Marker pigment. And to diffuse it slightly, I used the Aquamarine Watercolor Brush Marker. In order to add a bit of warmth, I added a bit of Rainforest pigment from the 24 Pan Watercolor Set.
Once the background was dry, it dulled considerably. Therefore, I took Azurite Dye Ink and Emerald Dye Ink and applied it to the top and bottom left edge respectively. This added a bit of vibrancy to the background.
Coloring the Leaves
Firstly, I applied water to the entire leaf die-cut. This helped the pigment to move easily. Then, I applied pigment in the following order: Emerald, Just Green, Lime, and Citrus Burst from the Watercolor Brush Markers.
I added splatters of clear water drops onto the panel and sopped them with tissue paper. Then, I adhered the leaves with the Altenew Glue Tape and the flowers with foam tape for interest.
Adding the Magical Touch!
I added fine black paint splatters from the 12 Pan Essential Watercolor Set. And to add the magical touch, I added a LOT of white splatters. This is what would set the card apart!

Your card is beautiful! Love the background watercoloring video and your process. And of course, the splatters. Looking forward to trying something like this!
Your coloring really showcases this die. I especially enjoyed how you explain everything you are doing and why in your video. The information was of great help to me. I loved watching the process and how beautifully it all came together.

This is a flower new to me and I love it. You have done such a beautiful job of creating a stamp set of it.
Super fun die set!!
So sweet, and I love that little “heart” shape option!
I have a few snowdrops in my garden and the first sign of them pushing through the snow here in Michigan is magical every year!!! I’ve never noticed the little heart, so I’ll check them out closer with new eyes next spring. Lovely cards, and especially love the blue colors! They kinda look like water, but it is perfect for the snow and cold.
Very pretty card, I especially like the colors chosen for the background.
Thanks Altenew for another great new release!
