Hi there everyone! Happy Monday! Today I am sharing two card designs with you that are fairly similar. My cards feature the Paint-a-Flower: Spider Mums Stamp Set.
Initially, I only planned on making the card on the right with some extra stamping. But, I got distracted and double stamped and had to fussy cut the stamped portion out to create the card on the left. Watch the video at the end of this post to see all of this happening with your own eyes!
Firstly, on Crest Solar White Cardstock I will ink blend Cotton Candy Dye Ink with the help of the Large Blending Tool. Next, I will place the panel in the stamp positioner and stamp the image in Coral Bliss Dye Ink. You can use any ink to stamp that is closer or slightly darker than the color of markers you will be using. In my case, I am coloring with pinks and peaches and therefore, went with Coral Bliss Dye Ink.
After stamping, I colored the nooks with Coral Berry Artist Marker. I blended this out with Peach Perfect Artist Marker. In the end, I added the Frosty Pink Artist Marker pigment to the tips of the petals.
For the leaves, I used the Coffee Break Set of Artist Markers.
After the mess up, I carefully cut around the image and set it aside. Next, I added Gold Foil Washi to the left edge of the card front. Then stamped the sentiment in Espresso Dye Ink. After this, I adhered the panel with foam tape. And then added fine black splatters to the right portion. To finish, I adhered Satin Gold Sequins.
Because my heart was set on the initial design, I recreated it without the additional stamping. Just changing the layout a little bit, does give the stamp a completely different look. Even though everything is done in the exact same manner.
On this, I added a lof fine black splatters and gold splatters. Then I adhered the sentiment which I heat embossed on black cardstock.
In the end, I added Satin Gold Sequins.
I hope you liked my cards. You can watch the video below or on YouTube.

Beautiful cards, Erum. I too try to save and “repurpose” anything that I have created that didn’t turn out perfect or as planned. I actually like your first card with the partially cut out spider mums on the cream card base the best! Great recovery!
Great look to the coloring. I like the combination used. Great video detailing the process.
Both cards are stunning. I also try to save my boo-boo cards. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t but worth a try.
This mum is such a beautiful stamp set.
Both cards are so elegant. If I put that much work into a card, I do my best to salvage it. I usually mess things up at the end when I am putting on the finishing touches.
Beautiful cards. I love this awesome stamps. wow great save. I’ve fussy cut out my mistakes when necessary or if possible add a sentiment over it. If I’ve done a lot of coloring there is no way I’d throw it away. I love the black splatters, gold accents and the awesome embossing when you’re done. Love both cards.
Breathtaking cards! I love how you fixed the first one but your original idea was pretty. Yes, most of the time I have thrown out things that don’t come out right. Now with watching all the techniques and tutorials I do try to fix the problem before discarding all my hard work.
Beautiful save. I wouldn’t have known that it hadn’t worked out exactly as it did. After doing all the shading, I would have saved it as well. Will keep in mind to save the side of the card as well to highlight all the ink blending. Love your work
Both cards are truly stunning and you have to look really hard to see that the design on the left is kind of layered so I would say that you did a fab job in the save department! Such pretty mums! Lovely coloring!
Absolutely Gorgeous!!! Would have never known you messed up on this!! Thanks for sharing your fix!!
just so gorgeous
