You Won’t Believe Where I Found My Inspiration For This Month’s Challenge!

by Erum Tasneem

Hey there everyone! This is your November Inspiration Challenge Post which wouldn't be possible if it wasn't for my pajamas! Yep, you read that correctly. If you have been following me on my Instagram, you would know that I buy a LOT of floral print PJs to support a local small business. I am someone who doesn't take a lot of photos so you will usually see me use my own cards as inspirations. Or this time, my clothes. I just LOVED the colors on this one and HAD to buy this. I actually bought two sets of this, just in case one wears out with time *hides face*.

Inspiration Challenge 2020 11 SQ 1

On my card, I have used the Hibiscus Garden 3D Dies as they were incredibly close to the floral pattern. Look at the card photo below, except for the Hibiscus, everything matches! I think the flowers on the PJs are Plumeria!

Firstly, I used the 9×12 Watercolour Cardstock to die-cut the dies. Secondly, to color, I used Red Cosmos from the 24 Pan Artist's Watercolor Set for the Hibiscus. To add variation to the layers, all I did was add more water to get a lighter shade.

For the blue leaves, I used the Persian Blue Watercolour Brush Marker as well as Lapis Lazuli Watercolor from the 24 Pan Artist's Watercolor Set. And for the teal colored leaves, I used Lagoon Watercolor Brush Marker. And to add more depth, I also used Sea Shore pigment from the 24 Pan Artist's Watercolor Set.

On Navy Cardstock, add splatters from 14 Pan Metallic Watercolor Pan Set. Once dry, adhere all the floral elements with foam tape.

In the end, adhere the sentiment and Satin Gold Sequins.

You will find the process video below or on the Altenew YouTube Channel.

I hope you will take part in the inspiration challenge. I have not hosted one for the longest time and would love for you to take part in this! Can't wait to see what you create.

Thank you for stopping by!
