Hello, friends! Erum Tasneem here with you today to celebrate the release of this month's Craft-A-Flower Layering Die Set.
Our Craft-A-Flower die sets are released monthly and celebrate the beauty of a wide variety of flowers! Each set includes all the pieces you need to create a multi-layered floral arrangement, inspired by our popular 3D flower dies. All you need is colored cardstock and a die-cutting machine. We can’t wait to see what you create!
This month we are releasing Craft-a-Flower: Anemone Layering Die Set!
Wait till you see how to use this gorgeous set; it is another stunner by Altenew! But first, here is the layering guide for your convenience.
Project:
I started by die cutting all the die-cuts from the 9×12 Watercolor Cardstock. To color the flower, I used the Ultramarine and Ultraviolet Watercolor Brush Marker Refills. You can watch the video at the end of this post to see how I colored the layers in two tones. I used the same two colors for all the layers, just changed the concentration. For the leaves, I used Jet Black Watercolor Brush Marker. The same pigment was used to color the flower centers.
For my arrangement, I took our extra die-cut of the topmost layer of the leaf. I also used Silver Glitter Tape to make my own glitter cardstock and die cut more leaves out of it for interest.
First, I added black paint splatters to my background. Then, I adhered the florals with foam tape and tucked in the leaves with glue. It is at this point I decided to add something silver, and I die cut those skeleton leaves, aka the topmost leaf layer.
For additional sparkle, I added Sterling Silver Watercolor from the 14 Pan Metallic Watercolor Pan Set, and I popped up the sentiment. To finish off, I adhered a few sequins.
You can watch the process video below or on the YouTube channel.
