VIDEO: Grungy, Gold Goodness Card with A Pretty-in-Pink Daisy | Creative Coloring with Erum

by Erum Tasneem

Hi there, everyone! Erum here with a new video + card to share featuring the Craft-A-Flower: Layering Daisy Die Set.

To start, I die cut one of the daisies from Craft-A-Flower: Daisy Die Set and colored it using watercolors from the 36 Pan Watercolor Set. For the daisy, I used Cotton Candy on the top layer with a bit of Cosmic Berry pigment around the flower center. To add interest, I colored the second layer (base layer) in Cosmic Berry Watercolor.

For the leaves, I started with a color wash of Evergreen and added a more concentrated pigment on the rest of the layers. I also dropped in some Paper Bag Watercolor in places for interest. To color the flower center, I used Paper Bag and Espresso.

To make the front panel, I used Espresso Watercolor and roughly colored it. Next, I selectively and partially stamped Shades of Love Stamp Set in Enchanted Gold Pigment Ink to create my background. After this, I poured over Antique Gold Heat Embossing Powder and heat set. For interest, I added some black paint splatters.

I adhered all the die-cuts on the panel and then added white and gold splatters from the Metallic Watercolor Pan Set. After this, I adhered the sentiment which is from the Statement Flowers Stamp Set.

To finish, I adhered a few Antique Gold Sequins.

Your card was so pretty. I loved how you did the distressing. Doesn’t Tim Holtz make a distressing tool? But why buy one when you can get the same effect with scissors. Thanks for your tips.

This is beautiful and I really like the contrast of the dark brown under the brighter pink and purple hues! Gold accents always are a plus! Such a great card!
