Watch How to Create This Fun, Colorful Watercolor Card In Real Time | Creative Coloring with Erum (VIDEO)

by Erum Tasneem

Hi there, everyone! Erum here with a fun, colorful watercolor card to share featuring the new Build-A-Flower: Primrose Stamp Set.

Altenew BAF Primrose Stamp Set - watercolor card | Erum Tasneem | @pr0digy0

I started by stamping several images in Obsidian Pigment Ink onto the 9×12 Watercolor Sheet. Next, I used Crystal Clear Embossing Powder to heat emboss it.

The watercolor process is super fun and easy. I have a video at the end of this post to show you exactly how I colored the images in real-time. I added pigment to the entire image, without overthinking, and then dropped in concentrated or darker pigment in the center. As this is wet on wet, the paints will diffuse on their own. The colors used for the flowers are from the Artists' Watercolors Set, namely Summer Afternoon, Fiery Sunset, and Warm & Cozy. For the leaves, I used various greens.

For the background, I kept the watercolor centralized by adding water only to the center portion and adding Sea Shore watercolor. Once this was dry, I added clear water splatters and stopped it up with a tissue paper to add more texture to the background. Next, I adhered my floral arrangement and then added black and gold paint splatters from the 36 Pan Watercolor Set and the Metallic Watercolor Set respectively.

Also, to add interest, I stamped the flower centers in Coral Berry Dye Ink and fussy cut them out to use as filler flowers on my floral arrangement.

I also doodled the flower centers and the outlines on the smaller flowers.

You can watch the video below or on YouTube in HD.

And there you have it: a fun colorful watercolor card! I hope you liked the project. See you next week!

Erum- thanks so much for the video. I’ve been playing with watercolor recently and this really inspired me to be a bit more free-form as the results are gorgeous! Love that you’ve got multiple cards in your head and made everything work. I thought the card was great before the extra flowers and sequins- but seeing after those additions, it’s stunning. Thanks for sharing your creative talents and keeping it real for all of us. Have a great day and stay safe!

I love the way this card turned out. I wish my errors were so glorious. The addition of the little pink flowers added so much
more color and dimension. Thanks, Erum for another great video!
